Which Pokémon game should I get for NDS?

I was leaning towards White and Black (and I would get Black) but do you have a better suggestion that would override my previous decision? I'm getting this fornmy 14th birthday and I want a game that I will enjoy and give me a long time's worth of enjoyment. Suggestions would help and the most popular will greatly effect my decision so please help. I don't want to waste my parent's money on a game that doesn't live up to its name and price. Since most DS games range from $25-40, that will be the target price range. Thanks to all of you in advance! :D

If you are mainly seeking length of gameplay, go with Heartgold/Soulsilver. Can't argue with 2 regions and 16 gyms to progress through. Which version: most people choose the one featuring the legendary they prefer.

although it doesnt have quite the length its still fun. if you have a ds lite, you can also grab your pokemon from any pokemon gba games you have.

With the end of Nintendo WFC for DS approaching, the case in favour of Heartgold or Soulsilver is strengthened for anyone in this situation. Arguably the best feature of the four Gen. V games was their random Wi-Fi battles. To contrast, HG/SS's Wi-Fi thing was that daily carnival activity, which wasn't a big hit. Take away these things, and the differences in base game are clearer.
