Honestly I'm fine with sword and shield as of now, but if we don't have a way to get every starter i'm going to get mad, because a lot of people's faves are starters. Also if Waillord isn't in the game I'll cry, I really want to see dynamax Waillord and Joltik

Having read that blog of yours where you explain some of the biggest problems with Sw/Sh, I kinda see why you think they suck now.Glad you can kinda see why I hate the game now. Even if you can't bring yourself to not really feel the same way, I hate it.
IDK, I can't bring myself to feel the same way (because I'm a Pokémon addict, lol), but because of the elimination of so many Pokémon and gameplay features, it seems like a MASSIVE step backwards. :(
In Gen 4 (the first gen with internet), there were 493 Pokémon, more than the 400 in Sw/Sh after Dexit, and I suspect that is about where the games were at quality wise, aside from the (relatively) modern graphics.
If SW/Sh were released instead of Diamond and Pearl Versions back in Gen 4, they'd probably have been good games for back then, but only 400 Pokémon and no GTS when people are used to so much more from a Pokémon game now is REALLY lame. :(
(It probably makes the Ultra games and OR/AS still pretty appealing to people, though.)
They took so many things out the games. Gen 4 DP was around the same quality but Platinum and HGSS were better of course so if it was SwSh instead, it would likely be amazing. 400 Pokemon now (or 649 with DLC) and no DLC really sucks. What is sad is that people defend this trash still years later. It is sad. 3 years and still defend it.
Not long ago, people sad GF was still Indie so whatever. Then, when DLC was announced and people were mad, people said that they were a big company so of course they want your money. Clearly, it is a big company but they defend this trash still. The best of the pokemon games are BW2, HGSS, XY, ORAS, and Platinum. ORAS and Emerald can be swapped out between each other in terms of ranking.
Yeah, 649 is the EXACT same number of Pokémon as B2/W2. So the went from being worse then the Gen 4 games to equal to the Gen 5 ones (judging them solely based on the number of Pokémon that exist in the games, anyway), even though it costs 50% more than US/UM, which have 158 more Pokémon in them, and far superior online features.Based off pokemon numbers, yeah they went to around gen 5 if you don't count alt forms. So basically, Gen 5 was cheaper, had more features like Video chat, better story, more pokemon at launch (even in BW1 if it's pre-DLC), and more yet SwSh has less. It is horrible. I have been playing pokemon since 2014, but I hate this honestly.
(Among many other advantages over Sw/Sh.)
And yeah, I'd put OR/AS in 1st place because of the AWESOME unique gameplay features (including all of the Secret Base stuff, Contests, Soaring, Diving, and the Triple and Rotation battle formats, just to name a few), the incredibly well-written story (even better than the stories Emerald and Platinum Versions IMO), and incredible graphics, which are probably just as good as those in Sw/Sh anyway.
(Not to mention the Gen 3 nostalgia factor, Mega Rayquaza and the Primals, and ZINNIA!â¤ï¸)
I'd put HG/SS in 2nd place (although they're pretty old now, they are still truly incredible Pokémon games), US/UM in 3rd (they'd probably have been in 2nd if they hadn't removed Triple battles), B2W2 in 4th (mostly because of the PWT and Join Avenue), X/Y in 5th, Platinum in 6th (best Sinnoh game out there, although BD/SP may have surpassed it), Emerald in 7th, S/M in 8th (mostly just 'cause the Ultra games are out now, and they're better), FR/LG in 9th, and the original R/S in 10th place.
(I'm not including anything pre-Gen 3, although Crystal Version was obviously AWESOME!)
IDK, I'm probably slightly off on those last few, but the main point is that were I to include Sw/Sh, they'd (based on everything that I now know) probably come in at around 8th place, just ahead of the now obsolete (except for from a storyline standpoint) original Gen 7 games.
(And without the Expansion Pass, I'd probably rank them lower.)
