Anyone else notice how Pikachu goes toe to toe with champions and stuff then gets beaten by the first, weakest leader in the next Region?

Manga. The shows bombed ever since their story guy died. Manga is awesome. No contest.

If pikachu hadn't lost strength, foes either would be beaten in 2 seconds or would continue becoming stronger....for 5 generations...
