Why do users put numbers in their names?

People often use numbers because their name is already taken, so they tack on some numbers to make it "unique." I prefer just coming up with original names.

I'm one of those people who start dancing the Macarena all of a sudden at the most serious part of a conversation.

It may remind them of something in the past, present, or future, DoB, or to give their name "character" XD

well for me, 1409 actually means something....so u take my name, put it with something i like, + the #s and u get HS1409

I tried just to use Annie 10 times and it didn't let me use it so I put 01. Plus numbers are awesome

@Annie - Annie1? as in Number 1 When you put a 1 at the end it's because your most likely No#1.
But some names are already taken so you usually have to throw in some numbers.

I put the numbers on my usersname because I usualy use 'brighid51' as a usersname oPo

Just remember, I cared when no one else did.

Because I made an email address, see, and it was taken, so I added 72 to it. I also like to have all my usernames for sites similar somehow, and since my 'Cade name is "gary stue" I made this one "garystue72". ._.

They do it because the names they like, (their first choice), are taken so they make them unique by adding numbers to everything.
I don't especially like my username right now, so I keep myself satisfied by changing capitalization once in a while.

I'm not sure why I originally used 2, because banjo1 was created AFTER banjo2 (this was on a different site).


But at the time, a number was needed to have an account. I've just kept using it.
