This might be a little off-topic and I've said this many times, but oh well.

In addition to posting decent threads, it's also helpful to search threads before posting. The search feature is located on the BB menu. Bumping a thread is far better than wasting another to make a new one.

To be honest pointless threads are whats popular so why try and change it. The people want what the people want so just role with it until in dies down. Stop being so serious all the time! We dont want to talk about boring stuff, we want random, pointless fun.

@Darmani Threads get locked for a variety of reasons which include inappropriateness, duplication, topical discretion, importance/usefulness, relativity, etc.

I feel that the Miscellaneous boards should be used for one of three reasons:

1) discussion of a miscellaneous topic not fitting in the other boards (the main and obvious reason)

2) polls/questions such as "what would you do?" or "choose between [1] and [2]"

3) forum games like "Corrupt-a-Wish" or "Name that film"

The last two being clever and/or entertaining, mind you. Anything else isn't legitimate in my mind.

Bullitin board admins should be able to delete entire threads. Will that help?

@lucas They can. But still, the solution is not to have every other thread deleted (or even locked for that matter). Ideally, what the website needs is a better sense of responsibility coming from users.
