i honestly can't remember if it was gold or silver.. and yes i was alive when it came out.. i was about 6 years old.. but i remeber getting my game boy and pokemon gold with it for christmas

Red was the 1st one. Red+Green in Japan, Red+Blue in America. Blue was the updated version of Green,[graphics-wise] and Yellow was the Special[NOT a remake]

I've noticed the Sibling games are usually neglected, ie: Sapphire wasn't the most wanted of the two, the Sib games are usually Shafted, it seems... I stick to 3rd Editions...

@waffle: No, he's right. Red+Green were the very first Pokèmon games. Later, Blue came out, w/ Updated graphics, and a bit of color. When launched in North America, we got Red+Blue. [even] Later, we all got Pokemon Yellow. This is easily available on Serrebii.net...

Japaneese green and red were the very first, butfire red was my first and fireds my alltime favorite pokemon game cus its a better than perfect of thee best one+it was my first 1
