What is the purpose of having a bf/gf at an age as young as 8?

I don't know why little kids do this.. It's weird... I'm 13 in 8th grade, and I've NEVER had a boyfriend.

I'm 13 nd only had 2 bfs in life. I really liked them. i didnt date them just to say i have a boyfriend. I'm super picky about guys. I never even had my first kiss yet beause I'm saving it for someone real special.

You shouldn't be going out with someone, unless you are ready for a commited relationship....Dating is NOT the same. Dating is getting to know the person until you are ready (or not) to get to know them better and actualy start to go out with them.

People in my school still need to understand that its not about the popularity of the person (We`re talking 13-15 yr olds here) and they still need to understand that some popular people are very... snobbish or demeaning towards other people who are not as popular as them. Plus, most of the people in my grade are druggies or have already done 'it'. But anyway, back to my point, even at the ages of 13 -15 they still dont understand the meaning to love someone so how can an 8 year old understand it? Simple, they can`t.
