A forum where banned users may post ban appeals if they feel the ban is unnjust, banned users cannot see eachothers threads and normal users cannot access the "ban-board"
Perhaps for temporary bans, one should examine the means before the ends. In other words, trust the chat mods to do their jobs correctly.
Permanent bans, on the other hand, should rarely be contested. This is a serious punishment and is not used often; when it is, there is virtually always a legitimate reason.
However, mistakes and injustices do happen. In the event that one is unfairly banned, one should either politely take it up with Hull via email or just let it rest, depending on the severity of the accused infraction.
Thus, I don't see a real need for a "ban-board" (due in part to the website's member population at this point in time). If it did exist, it would be overrun with spam complaints and hateful comments.
Well...some members might be angry that this goes on their record(lesser chance of adminship, more notoreity, etc.) and thinks it was a mistake, they would want to try to complain.
Communism: You have more water, everyone has more water!
To fight the spam in that board, add this rule to it. "If you spam this board you WILL get a permaban and lose your posting abilities in this board as well"
Not the best idea, as previously stated, it could be a huge pot of boiling rage against admins and site... If it is done, however, would any post there be added to one's own BB Post Count?
And also, I just realized that if they have a complaint over an unfair ban, they can just go to HelpDesk about it...
