The bulletin boards are a mini forum, a place for discussion. Blogs (on SDK) are your own personal bits of prose/fiction, and are a lot less limited than the BBs.

Blogs: Are newsworthy articles written by members so others can read any updates, news, stories, game previews/reviews, etc.

Bulletin Boards: Like Limxzero stated, a mini forum for discussion all around the site.
And gives us members to correct the right threads from wrong. (Like this one.)
Keep unlocked for discussion.

@Red Mist Blogs don't necessarily have to be newsworthy. That standard only applies to featured blogs.

I agree, and even featured blogs are not always newsworthy [sometimes]. I'm not a fan of Short Stories, so that's why I say that. I don't mean to diss anyone who is, for the matter.
