I've been playing Indie games for a while, so I though I'd enlighten those who have henceforth been unaware of the Indie gaming scene. Basically, Indie games are (generally) games made by those not in the video game industry, often for fun or personal satisfaction. Many are free and several have received great notoriety. Many offer great experiences, and because they're self-funded (no corporation standing behind them (with tons of money at stake), they're able to experiment more. Here are a few notable Indie games, which also happen to be among my favorites:
-Cave Story: Truly an amazing 2D platformer. You NEED to play this.
-Frogatto: A little known gem of a game. Fans of old school platforming games should check this one out.
-MineCraft: Quite a fun sandbox game. It's popularity has increased exponentially. Those who enjoy tons of experimenting with world making will LOVE this game.
What Indie games do ya'll recommend, and why?
It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.
