yeah. i made a thread like this. but i wanted to give the points to the person. like if you were to go to your friends profile. you can send them points/bucks to that person.

First, ask yourself what the purpose of private auctions is. Okay, well, you would say that they'd be for making auctions exclusive so that certain people can't bid on them. Is that the right idea, or should all auctions be open to the public? Or is the purpose actually to give users points/bucks for "free"? The intentions can be difficult to cull through.
In examining the concept of a private auction, there are some things one should realize. Making the scope of the auction to be all one's friends still begs the question of why a password is needed. If the auction is limited to friends, then it should only be visible to friends; thus, no password needed. Though there would need to be some sort of notification (likely through mail) that announces the private auction. Also, there might be a certain degree of planning needed in adding/accepting a friend if it has not been done already. Which leads to the idea of a more Groups-like approach that would involve you inviting hand-picked users to participate in the auction.
However, the problem I have with private auctions is that they open up opportunities for cheating. I think that the purpose of private auctions would be, more often than not, a means of transfer for bucks/points. Cheating in the sense of using alternate accounts to gain points at a faster rate than normal and centralizing them onto a main account is the obvious qualm. But one must also consider rigged auctions. I mean when you say "so that only one person can bid", that is what immediately comes to mind. Favoring certain users with disregard to their auctioning ability would be the fruit of that, along with the possibility of rigged "contests" held by normal users.
Now, could there be ways to make private auctions in such a way that they would be fraud-proof? That's something to think about.
Well, If we need more Savii mods, we don't need to worry, there are plenty of trustworthy members here.
Even people who aren't mods of Any type I think could be trusted more then some of the mods
as example: ur friend is leaving dsipaint. he has alot of points. ppl just make a auction with title: for {name} starting bid is just the points ur friend has. alot of ppl do tht. but this would be even better!
but private auctions are for friends only to enjoy, in real life, a private auction is more casual, the atmosphere is lighter and drinks are served :P thats why there more pleseant to have
thats a very good Idea but what if you have a password and someone forgets it and what if your friend petrayed youand told your friend the password its kind of a good idea you should ask hull wat he thinks of it
Believe in your dreams and your wishes may just come true.
The use of private auctions to give points/bucks to a certain person would become unnecessary if there was a simple funds transference system, although there would still be room for cheating to take place with the system.
I can't think to make such auctions fair, but I do like the sound of having them be visible only to one's friends, though I'm not sure why.
It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.
