Thats just... wow... i cant explain how life saving that probaly was. well that BOOSTED there prestige around the now!! "3DS AN EVOLUTION IN GAMING OR A LIFE SAVING DEVICE!?!?!?!?!"
Hmm, okay. That's interesting. I took "if they can't see the 3D then there is something wrong with their eyes" to mean that the 3DS could be used as a device to measure a child's retinal growth. And though the blurb does state that this particular handheld console could detect certain vision disorders, I'd like much more detail along with substantial reasoning and support by additional individuals in the field of pediatric optometry. I'm not trying to overlook anything, but I have to admit it does sound far-fetched.
Thanks. Apparently, there are numerous articles about this; so it's pretty new, with more information coming in from scientific correspondents by the hour. I do like the fact that that particular article shows both sides of the issue.
And as one would suspect, I tend to favor the more cautious ideas maintained by Nintendo. I noticed that the initial warning made by Nintendo was because the 3-D image could possibly disturb the still growing nervous connection between a child's brain and eye. The claim that the very same thing could detect natural problems makes me very skeptical. I believe that at best, something like the 3DS is better than nothing (even for my belief that most children 6 years and under will not be using a 3DS), but, quite obviously, inferior to sound medical tests.
Pretty cool story.
I've learned a new lesson:
Always carry a 3DS on my person so when I'm in trouble...I can be located if someone else has a 3DS with them...yeah not too likely, but still pretty cool.
It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.
