We are aware of it, and there is not enough to be remotely alarmed over.
Scientists has said, (do not have a site right now for it, might find one later but its been said many times over the net) that the amount of radiation that came over is not even enough to effect a small lab rat.
They say it's supposedly harmless, but I don't buy that line when it has been said that those Japanese reactors contain thousands of times the amount of nuclear material than the Hiroshima bomb. And they're leaking badly. Right now there may not be a huge effect, but particles are trickling in through the water and the air. And when dangerous radiation accumulates, the food chain is affected.
This leakage is significantly adding to the worldwide damage done by the Chernobyl and Three Mile Island incidents.
That's not to say there's nothing to be done--I sincerely hope that the scientific community will leave idle explanations and start working on a solution.
Everyone is suffering from it.
Fruit from japan is radio-active.
Meat is useless in japan from the radiation.
Toyota plants are shutting down due to missing parts made in Japan.
-_- Do you not know, YOU WILL BE EXPOSED TO RADIATION NO MATTER WHAT. And, there isn't enough radiation to hurt. But our next generation will suffer.. Well in Japan and close countries.
My ideal life; Living to the fullest, having fun, and geeking on a linux box.
like syed said, radiation is everywhere, while you're typing a reply to this, your body is sucking in radiation through your skin, eventually, you will get cancer because of radiation.
In all honesty it's nothing to fear at this moment.
You do all realize that radiation is a very broad term, yes? There is relatively benign radiation, like that from a cell phone, and extremely dangerous radiation, like that from a nuclear power reactor.
It's not a bit deal though if it's just a bit, there is radiation everywhere and it's produced by a lot of electronics.. If you're that paranoid, don't go swimming. I'd be more worried for the people in Japan who are actually near the nuclear plant >.>
Well yeah there is gonna be radiation almost everywhere from that tragic event. It's not enough to kill us and I'm sure everyone is aware of it. They just don't care enough to go crazy and buy masks like people did when the swine flu got more contageous.
