The purpose of this board re-deux

I realize there was one of these already, I asked KoD for permission to re-vamp this to make a few changes and what I and him expect from the posters of this board.

Fist of I am going to copy and paste what KoD originally posted and then build upon that.

"The Idea that HullBreach and I had in mind when I requested this board was to talk about current world events.
Stuff like Japan, or the elections. Think of it this way, if you heard it on the T.V. or on the radio, it could probably go on here.
Please, this is my only wish I ask of you guys to follow, please do not post stuff that isnt 'current events' stuff like, 2012 is the end of the world, or my nephew found my dsi.

What I would like to add and make sure the posters of this board understand is.

This isnt a random board, like KoD said if you are posting five word sentences in broken text talk, I will lock it. What I want and I am sure KoD wants as well is intelligent conversation that you cannot get in the text talk, cyber relationship, drama filled chatrooms we have right now.

What I expect from threads are as follows, and yes I will be somewhat lenient on this, I am not that mean, or that much of a stickler for some things.

First thing, and this is very important to me, if I have to read what you guys are trying to say, I really do not want to see text talk. I do not care about spelling mistakes of some of the larger words, I expect that from all of us, I dont care about that. I do care if you are coming in here to try to discuss and debate something with us and it LKS LKE THS. I will lock it and possibly delete it.

Secondly, if you CAN, a link to the things that you are trying to discuss is always a good thing, I understand some of you are posting on a DSi and cannot copy paste, thats fine, no worries, but if you are posting from a PC and have a link to share about the discussion you are trying to convey, it would be awesome if you could post it.

Thirdly, six words does not constitute as a discussion. If you start a thread like "The world is going to end, discuss" I will lock it. If you create something to the extent of "We are going to war, discuss" I will lock that as well. This board is designated for deep discussion, not quick thoughts and fast post counts, if you want that go to Misc and spam there.

Fourthly, keep anger down to a minimum, there will be times when some people have different views than you, that is awesome, this is what makes a debate and discussion so much fun and interesting, do not ruin it by flinging names and insults. We are all different in all ways, that is what makes all of us interesting, if you hurl insults at each other due to indifferences on opinions, that just makes everything less interesting and also can cause a nice ban. We dont want that.

Other than that, I expect nothing but brilliance from these boards, I will be one of the main admins of this board unofficially, just because I want to see this prosper, and I am not one for randomness, so I tend to stay away from the other boards unless I have to.

Agreed. One of the first threads that I saw in this section was completely random. Luckily, the other threads seem to be fine, although I've noticed a couple that are about the same basic topic.

It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.

Respect (as stated) and being sensible are the most important concepts of which we should be mindful. So it'd be great if we could all avoid being unaware, inadequately supporting a claim, or intentionally undermining someone/something. Those things can cause anything from petty bickering to full-scale scuffles. In other words, be informed and sound when posting here of all places, or just don't post.

In addition, I thought I would point out that with this board, there will be a lot of fact and opinion floating around. Don't confuse the two.

I'd also like to thank doomcakez for the concept of this board, as well as KingofDarkness for requesting it. Best of luck to this board, and cheers.

yeah, i've seen quit a few of the remakes of japan, i'm thinking of somehow putting japan back on the first board... so no dupes of it are made.
