They wouldn't get bullied. Elementary school kids are really not going to hate you because you have 2 female/male parents, if anything they'd just be curious(UNLESS, their schoolmates parents are religious extremists who spread their hateful, prejudice views to their kids. Which is far more shameful and worse than gays adopting, in my opinion, call me crazy.) And nobody but their friends would/should know anyway. Parents don't go to school with their kid(s) last time I checked. They have the exact same chances to be bullied as a adopted kid to a heterosexual couple. They're adopted, I don't think adding in same sex parents would make that any worse.
Well, Neon, kids DO emulate their parents' views and such on most topics. So, regardless of if they tell them or not, overhearing something's just as bad.
@Ray: Glad I spoke for 2.
Whoa bro, better slow down bro, don't wanna be a bro, bro.
If somebody wants to bully you, they will find something to tease you about. It's not even that big of a deal anyway, lots of kids are bullied(I still can't believe some people think we shouldn't let gays adopt because their kids might get "bullied" what about parents who are gay but have a kid from a previous relationship/experience do we take away their kids? What about heterosexuals whose kid(s) are bullied do we take their kids away? I guess we shouldn't let overweight people or "ugly" people reproduce/adopt because their kids might get bullied! Don't even get me started on people who need glasses, bad teeth, big nose, flat chested, I guess they can't reproduce either!) Instead of being prejudice idiots and not letting gays adopt(which will create even more prejudice idiots) how about we instead work on giving gays the same rights, which will speed up how long it will take until they're pretty much accepted, and also try to "stop bullying" although that rarely works.. some people are just idiots no matter what. One way or another homosexuals will be almost completely accepted eventually. The same thing has happened before with women and black people when they wanted rights.
Adding on to Neon's post, kids are bullied only based on what info is known about them. So, most likely, your schoolyard jerkoffs won't even know that you're parents are gay! Unless as neon said earlier, they walk you in and out every day and sit with you in class.[Coddling a bit much?] So, the Bully, Insecurity, "Turning Gay", and most other arguments are unfounded.
Whoa bro, better slow down bro, don't wanna be a bro, bro.
This whole "Odd parents = Bullied" thing is fairly stupid for above reasons. Unless we have Dr. Strangelove-esque "Perfect Society Reproduction" then parental based bullying happens to all, not just gay-adopted, and children are unlikely to even know said parents.
That doesn't even make any sense. 1. Not all gays are "feminine", and that isn't how chromosomes work. 2. what about lesbians? They don't have another chromosome to "overpower" the X ones. 3. You can't have XX and be a guy.. if you're XX you're a girl. That isn't it at all as far as I'm concerned..
Okay, well apparently there is a rare condition where a male can be born with XX (thanks for making me look dumb, internet), but one of the X chromosomes contains male genetic material. I researched it a bit and it said that males with XX aren't feminine are are generally normal guys, and it has nothing to do with being gay, I have no idea where you came up with your above.. idea.. thing, but no, just no.. And, as I said before the XX male thing is a rare condition and doesn't have links with homosexuality. That also wouldn't really explain why females with excess testosterone aren't all lesbians and guys with less than normal amounts(I'm guessing that's possible..) aren't all gay.
I just finished a 3 week accellerated basic medical course run by Johns Hopkins University (Hooray for nerd camp) and I can assure you that snake is completely wrong.
Goodbye my only friend. Oh, did you think I meant you?
