How do you EV train your pokémon?

Now. i know the basics on how to do it. Ive read a short tutorial on what it is and how to do it. I'm just looking for someone who knows how to do it like correctly or professioanly. Like give some tips or a lil tutorial. I would be very greatful. TY

is there a limit on the EP points u can get with a pokemon. like i read somewhere it might be 252 but idk if thats right. it also said u could lower ur EP with aberry or somethin
