On another website I'm on, there is a system where you earn Prestige, and there are leaderboards for amounts of Prestige.

Sounds like a good idea. But, it would induce competition. I see lots of members spamming blogs/saviis/etc. To earn the Top Ten.

This is a good idea (even though the BB's already had one.)
Other than a potential spam increase, I see no problem with this, except more work for Hull.
It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.
