Imagine this:

Your 18 years old and you live in a ghetto area with high crime rates.

Your best friend that you've known ever since you were little wants you to come with him/her to the store to get milk.

While your walking back from the store you see a car with someone pointing a shotgun at your friend and shooting him/her.

You rush over to the body and you find that their dead.

Your friend's brother & his crew wants you to join them in killing the person who killed the friend you've known for almost your entire life.

Would you kill them? (be serious)

I can obviously understand why people would want vengeance, but I don't have it in me to kill a person, no matter what happened...but then again you never know, until you're actually in the situation.

What would it profit a man, if he gained the whole world, but suffered the loss of his own soul?
