That's because it isn't a bug; it's by design for security purposes.
In case somebody steals your cookies (how the browser remembers that you're logged in when you hit "remember me", it'll also eventually expire. Many big sites (the first one that comes to mind for me is Mangadex) have this sort of functionality for this reason.
Granted, the actual implementation is different on Paint, though the sentiment is similar.
I'll mark this as resolved for now. Now, if you have a specific suggestion (e.g. making the login time longer) then you can open another HD and we can discuss there.
