There seems to be an inline style rule for the home button on some pages. It's prevalent on user profiles that haven't modified the home button, but notably isn't present on profile subpages. I recall seeing this elsewhere too, but can't find it now that I'm actively looking for it.

Note that this issue doesn't exist on 3DSPaint.

The HTML in question:

<img class="icon" style="width:64px !important; height:64px !important" src="/images/icons/icon_home.png" alt="Home">

Removing the height and width specification resolves the issue, or adding a background-size tag that scales the background image up to 64px resolves this.
