Hello @Rose_The_Reaper , you can get a custom avatar by drawing one with the painting system of the website.
If you'd like to use an off-site image, please see the profile for @Leftist-Tachyon or the blogs @Robdeprop for help with that, depending on your device.
Please be considerate when choosing an image, in that you don't choose something too big

@Pinkyyy you can join chatrooms at any time, but people usually don't use them much, most use groups instead (whivh are invitation-only). I suggest you try finding some members such as the ones in profile comments, blogs, etc, and sending friend requests or talking to them.

@aidansocool you can only use CSS, JS and HTML won't work
