Here's the pseudo code:
I won't use semicolons because I can't be bothered.
$username
$p1
$p2
$email; //These are defined in the real script

$link=mysqli_connect();//parameters are defined here
$stmt=mysqli_stmt_init($link);
mysqli_stmt_prepare($stmt, "SELECT Username FROM members where Username=?"
mysqli_bind_param($stmt, "s", $user)
mysqli_stmt_execute(//previous query)
$result=mysqli_store_result($link)
settype($result, "bool"
mysqli_stmt_close($stmt)

So basically it checks if the username is in use.
The problem then comes when I try to do another prepared statement to insert
the values into the database. The error is that mysqli_stmt_bind_param isn't recognised as a function. I think it's to do with the table structure:
id, Username, Password, e-mail
and I skip id.
