It's mostly my father. He is a good father, but not a good dad. He is a workaholic, he doesn't listen to me, and he constantly forces his ideas on me, and forces me to make decisions that I would never make. He also expects me to be at his beck and call, and to be ready to drop anything at any given moment just to do what he wants. My little sister seems to hate me. She is sassy and rude to me almost all day, but when she wants something from me, she is amazingly nice. As soon as she gets what she wants though, she goes back to sassy and rude, and she avoids me until she wants something from me. If I tell her no, or tell her to stop being rude, she immediately goes to my mother, and convinces her to make me cooperate with her, or she tells my mother that I am being rude, and I get punished while my sister rubs it in my face while getting what she wants. I've tried to talk to my parents about her attitude towards me, but they dismiss it, or laugh. I don't understand.

I can definitely relate, siling. My Dad Is only there for me and my sister when it is convenient to him. he works from home, yet still seems to have no time for me. it hurts. i try to explain it all to him, but it goes right through him. he won't listen. I am going through a court case rn to try and stop the visits to his house [my parents are divorced, btw] My litte sister is very unpredictable. she can be super sweet one minute and hate you the next. she's extremely sassy too, haha. I find the best way to deal with this is to not show her how much it bothers you. eventually she'll get bored and stop. My mom is very angry. she's been a victim of abuse, and can't handle stress well.. There's a lot of stress at home right now, and it's miserable. When I talk to her she snaps at me to leave her alone. If you don't already have one, try to find a family therapist to work out your issues with. If your family doesn't want family therapy, you could always choose individual therapy, which is just someone you can vent to confidentially. please don't try to bottle your emotions up, as it is extremely overwhelming when they all explode at once.

Yeah. We tried counseling. Well, I did. I have ADHD, so I had a individual counseler. But there isn't much a counselor can do. You know. Most have pre-set questions and answers and just want money. There are some that help, but I really don't want someone to try to interpret my life for me, when I already get it. My family also has a great deal of stubborness and don't change their minds easily. In other words, they don't listen to the counselors.

Preach, boi! Most councelors are only in that field for the paycheck, and have no experience outside of the book. I 100% share that opinion with you, but it works for some, so i felt like I had to mention it. Not for nothing, but my family puts on this act during therapy, and gets nasty about it when we get home.

If you're like me, which i'm 99% sure you are, I have gotten through hard times by writing. Nobody is there to judge, and while writing, I often discover things about myself that I didn't realize before. Writing is my one and only refuge from the chaos around me, it is my lifeline.

I also know you are very religious. While I personally don't share that trait, the rest of my family does, so i know a lot. I'm guessing you probably are praying a lot, but i know some people are able to have conversations with a higher being such as god through meditation. I meditate a lot, it's very cleansing after a stressful evening. You can do this anywhere, as long as it is quiet, dimly lit, and quiet. sit in any comfortable way and start to pray. focus on your breathing and how your body is feeling. Repeat this until desired, or until whenever you are able to interperate whatever the universe, or in your case, god is trying to make clear to you.

May i ask how you are dealing with all of this currently?

Yeah, writing has definitely helped me, but only after I found Paint. Beforehand, when I wrote things, I was always judged by anyone who saw them, and not in a good way. :[ I didn't even show my girlfriend one until we had been together for 3 years. She was the first person who appreciated them. Anyways, I'm getting off-topic...

Yeah. God almost always helps me through hard times, and when He doesn't, He makes something good come from it later.

Not trying to hate on your ideas, and I certainly don't want to tell you what does and doesn't work for you, but I don't think that will help in my particular circumstances. It may bring peace and rest, but it won't change my family.

I know I'm late to Post here, but I'm DEFINITELY in need of some Therapy, lol!

First, let me say this to my Friend, Siling-La, though:

While there's pretty much no way for you to not be bothered by it, one thing that usually helps me is to remember that it's all temporary, and that eventually, you won't have to out up with it all anymore.
(Although I wonder if that's true sometimes in my case, lol.)

Anyway, as far as my own problems, y'all are probably already familiar with my Dad (I certainly whine enough about him, lol), who is all around a pretty bad person, despite how much I Love him (I don't think I'm even capable of not Loving him, actually).

Well, like most people, I have Hopes and Dreams, and although there's a fairly decent chance that this World may crush those Hopes, and shatter those Dreams (which sadly happens to WAY too many people), I'm worried that I may never even get the chance for that to happen, as I'm already 25, and my Dad still hasn't even gotten around to helping me get my GED.
(Or an ID, or letting me Register to Vote, or letting me walk outside freely, or letting me use the Internet, or letting me enter Pokémon Competitions, or letting me have Friends…)

Anyway, I'm TRYING to wait and see if he ever gets his act together, as he does occasionally talk about some of these things (although he never actually does anything about any of it), but it's EXTREMELY frustrating, especially since I'm not getting any younger, lol!
(I'm a little worried I'll be in this same situation 10, or even 20 years from now.)
