Discord is known to record all information on its platform.[3] It specifically states on its website that it collects users' email addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, names, IP addresses, device data, tracking data, chat messages, voice chat, images, videos, drafts, files, custom emojis, voice recordings, live stream information, payment information, logs of other open apps, and third-party data.[4] On their website, it also claims that this information can be sent over to law enforcement.[5] Through email, it has been confirmed that Discord receives government requests for user information.[6]
Some aspects of these websites are stored or logged indefinitely in databases or flat files to either enhance future experiences or to allow public displays of content. Members are responsible for their own public and private content. All member information is kept confidential from third parties unless publicly provided by the members themselves.
