Many people have heard that dogs & cats have a supposed 6th sense...but, what exactly can they do? I'll explain it to you, then after I'm done, I will include a couple sites in which you can read more information if you are interested.

Cats specifically have been known to be able to have the ability to predict things before it happens. Many cats seem to know when their owner will be coming home, even if it's earlier or later then usual. Some can even predict death before it happens. One such cat, Oscar, is a nursing home resident & can predict the death of the residents within 4 hours prior to their death, with remarkable accuracy. Many dogs & cats BOTH have a strange ability to detect cancerous growths, seizures, or even natural disasters, in fact, in many situations where a Tsunami has occurred, it has been reported that the DOGS had been seeing running up hill leaving owners & people baffled & confused as to what was going on, this was usually way before the Tsunami even hit land. In many situations, those of us who have a cat can say that they seem to know if we're upset or hurt, even if we don't show it. Cats & dogs can hear sounds & feel vibrations that we as humans can not hear & feel. Some can even feel the beginning vibrations of an earthquake, BEFORE we can. Dogs can sense storms before they actually hit your area. (my dog, who's afraid of thunder, actually hides under the bed, whines, & paces 45 minutes before a thunderstorm actually hits). Yet another thing; most animals, not just a cat or a dog, can sense anything in it's atmosphere that is non-human (such as a spirit). Have your pet ever been calm, maybe even asleep, then suddenly, out of no where, awakens & stares, fixedly at something that's just not there....or even worse, just awakens & out of nowhere, act's terrified & tears out of the room, frightened of seemingly nothing at all? Just might be a spirit. Or it could just be reacting to a smell or sound that you can't hear...you never know. Last but not least, they seem to have a strange sense of navigation....after being away from home, some cats & dogs have been able to travel long distances to find there way home, UN-aided.
