Well friends, for those who live in the Northern Hemisphere, today (6/21) is the first day of summer. As some of you may know, the first day of summer is also referred to as the summer solstice, the longest sunlight period of the year. The Earth's axial tilt of ~26º by 23º in the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn will show the sun at it's highest position in the day today, or so they say. Either way, after today, the days will be converting to slightly shorter nanoseconds of sunlight, which over the next few months will escalate into minutes and hours once we reach autumn and winter. This is merely a part of the Earth's natural time cycle as it has been for the past millions of years before human history, and it will continue beyond today as it should. For now, please enjoy the rest of your summer as we continue to live through the remaining hours of the longest day of the year: The Summer Solstice.
I went outside, and by god, I SAVOURED the long night. T'was all nice and cool and refreshing, and we saw a very low travelling satellite. Must check Google Earth to see if we can see ourselves looking p at the satellite...
You wouldn't know it where I live. That's kinda sad, the peak of summer's been and gone and all we've had is about 20°.
Must...savour...long...night...
