Okay, I have a plan.I can obtain all of that but the platinum - I think Hull has a couple tonnes of that, though. So shiny!
But I'm going to need some items.
I will need a gallon of diesel, 20 feet of rope, a shower curtain, a llama, lots of warm colored paint, a compass, and a few ingots of platinum.
I come on maybe once every 2 months to see the slow decay of the site. I think the site is just doomed to die. Older users grow out of this sort of site and not enough users are being attracted to the site. This site was absolutely an amazing idea on the DSi. It was such an innovative idea and worked very well on the DSi and that is what made it so attractive. The DSi's hardware was not strong enough to handle most other sites, that's where this site came in. Now, newer consoles are more powerful and can actually handle better sites. This site has barely changed in the 5 years that I have been on this site and that is probably the biggest issue. No use really trying to bring the site "back". It has to evolve or die.I've been talking with Hull about evolving the site (you may have noticed the slow redesigning) but he seems to be in no rush to do anything; perhaps we need a 'spark' of inspiration?
The distinguished jsa005 spake:
That's a very artificial way of driving new users to join. *cough*Quora*cough*Good reasoning. Though I would argue that we have those one-time users as it is. Roughly 7 out of 10 legitimate new members never log back in, 2 of 10 will only check back a handful of times then quit, and 1 of 10 might actually be a keeper. They don't come back because they literally tried one or several things on the site and either were underwhelmed or confused.
You'd get a lot of one-use signups, ie. users signing up to look at the site once.
Also, on the affiliate links page, one of the terms for submitting a site is that content must be visible without logging in. It would be quite hypocritical to go against that ourselves.
The distinguished marioumarios400 spake:
well i login daily to check if there new blog post and polls. What if more content was only viewable to logged in users? Might that get site activity up a little?
That's a very artificial way of driving new users to join. *cough*Quora*cough*
