Twiiter Addition Suggestions

Before you ask, yes I know this is something that belongs in the HelpDesk. :P I was asked by an Admin to move it here since the HD is kind of stuffed.

With the alerts being down, I thought it'd be a good time to recommend that Twiiter (and HB Online when it returns) be worked into the online activites system when Hull gets the chance.
And speaking of Twiiter additions, I think it's be cool to have a Twiiter badge and a Twiiter post counter. Yes I realize that the badges have had issues previously, just a few suggestions. o3o

Newbies would just abuse the twiiter to get badges. They'd spam all over the place. There should be like only one post to somewhere each 5 minutes.

As said, I like the idea. It be usefull especially for the twiiter post count.

Biphenyl- That's what the twiiter admins are for, to keep it from being spam'd. But good suggestion too.

No, what I meant is that if 100 members of the site went to tWiiter, and each of them posted at once, the chatroom would lag like crazy.

@biph The likely increase in spam is duly noted. The same was said of the badges, and I do not remember there being a ridiculous increase in spam as was prophesied. Users don't seem to use Twiiter much anyway, so I'd like to see them do so.

Agreed, Skittles. Spam is not an option.

I don't use it and havn't yet, but I find that if these extra additions go in place I would be more likely to not persuaded to use it. I may start useing it now atleast, but the additions would make it better/convient for use.

You get a badge for posting on Twitter?

I think you should get badges for posting many comments,but we have one problem newbies would try and spam all over the place trying to the badge.

Hmm, using the "@" mentions and "#" hashtags is like ripping off Twitter. Maybe not so much as mentions/replies.

Maybe use a "(username)" mention and a "[hashtag]" hashtag would work.
Example:

(SavantInamorata)[DSiPaint][3DSPaint] All of the users want MissGiGi back... Should we do it?
