Good, I didn't think we'd die. So why is this such a big deal?

So why is this such a big deal?Just a big topic pull that politicians play to get votes, like abortion and the whole ethanol noise back in 2006. Btw south america has been using ethanol for decades. How the hell did we fail that one and whose bright idea was it to make ethanol out of corn?[/quote]
It was a vote-buying campaign buy politicians who know nothing of science and struggling farmers in the Midwest who stood to benefit from government subsidies. Two problems:

1. It takes more energy to produce corn ethanol than what a vehicle can get out of it.
2. The laws of supply-and-demand kicked in with the extra use for corn and caused food prices to increase.

Where's my energy-efficient, flying Deloreon that runs on fusion? It's almost 2015!
We don't even have self-tying shoes or hoverboards at least. I am disappoint.
The first two are correct. Global warming is happening on other planets also. Do you see cars and factories on those planets? No, it's all part of a cycle.
Also, I think a fusion reactor will be finished by 2013, but it is unknown whether or not it will produce more energy than is put in.

Moulder, people do care. But, this is not something that is going to ruin us. As Hull said, it's normal.
Well, tectonic plate movement may ruin things depending on how much the plate moves and the nature of how it moves.
I believe that the theories of global warming and climate change are false. Like previously stated, it seems only natural for the temperature to increase or decrease slightly over time. Some may think that the icebergs are melting and polar bears have less glaciers to live on so polar bears are dying. Then, some think this results in the oceans to rise. I disagree because if the temperature goes up slightly no significant percent of the iceberg will melt and therefore no oceans will rise. Only if the temperature increases drastically a global disaster like this would occur.

Other planets have active volcanoes, I believe.
