You're all idiots. Zelda is an action-adventure game. If you want to broaden the definition of RPG that much, aren't all games RPG's then? You play the role of Mario, don't you?
An RPG usually consists of turn-based battles, exp points, and an emphasis on strategy.
However, the WESTERN (Eastern IS Japan, herr derp.) gaming culture is very "unrefined" I guess you can say. We here in 'Murica like our games just like we like everything else. Big guns, asplosions, big guns, and zombies. Therefore, when we 'Muricans have to play games like Final Fantasy, which require patience, strategy, and above all, READING, we can't stand it. We don't want to wait our turn, we want to just run in there and plow everything down. THAT is why the traditional JRPG is suffering. Americans prefer the much easier Action RPG.
I prefer a good JRPG than a generic western action RPG. The Western Gaming culture is very generic. Just big guns, zombies, and asplosions. That's what we like.
YOU DON'T PLAY SKYRIM FOR THE STORY! The story is bullcrap!
