You and I don't talk much and I'm pretty sure you hate me, but that's besides the point. You're completely right in my opinion. It is the groups that are keeping people out of the chats. Also, groups are a lot harder to moderate than chats so some of them get pretty bad.

There are actually a host of free online services out there which track and provide website statistics for anyone to access.

They collect their data through a variety of primary and secondary methods like cookies, click loggers, tagging, and server hits, among others. The better services incorporate many of them. It's not awfully hard to find a decent stat site. Of course the services requiring subscriptions are more detailed and updated more often, so they are typically used by companies/businesses. Stats published are absolutely not in real time. An update every few months is pretty satisfactory. Their whole process is based on accumulation and automation. So in sum, while these web analysis services can be precise, they alone should not be used to evaluate a domain.

Back around when I first joined there would always be lots of people in the chats, 20-30 people in one quite often. Also, there used to be quite a fair ammount of blogs being featured daily, now, you see 1-3 blogs on average, sometimes a few days pass without any new ones. Forums seem a bit slow as well.

I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives.

I have been gone for two years from this site, and now that I have returned, seeing this place so empty is almost depressing. This place used to be so full of people, and to see it so empty is heartbreaking.

I know my apprehensions might never be allayed. And so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written...

While we might remember days past wistfully, we should also appreciate the larger picture. Despite dwindling activity levels, I find it remarkable that Paint has stood the test of time for half a decade.

They now have college, jobs, families and other things to do other than listening to kiddies cry about a site dying.

New members come and go, but the amount of vets still here or are returning are still enough to keep the site from "dying" and apparently you all forgot that groups take up half of the traffic now anyway, so its still "alive".

I am almost going to lock this thread since it is just becoming more of a crying kiddie huggle fest and not really a discussion.
