Any conspiracy of why the community is inactive and how we can improve the population?

It's been years since I used this on a regular basis. After I made my return, I notice that not much people were online and no one even haves a birthday. I currently don't have any suggestions of how we can increase the population of 3DSPaint.com, but a conspiracy I have is that Miiverse is what driving people away from; making 3DSPaint irrelevant nowadays. But what can this website that Miiverse can't?

Okay, maybe an edit option is one thing I'd love to see implemented. Because I commonly make TONS of typos.

DSiPaint didn't have to, which is mostly why it had the greatest success.

I can't simply and singularly say what might save this site, though I do believe it needs to stick to its strengths.

A deliberate conspiracy for DSiPaint succuss was that it (DSiPaint) was like the DSi version of Miiverse—a community made to discuss Nintendo games and other content in general. Similar to today's demographic, people commonly use smartphones and tablets as their reliable source of entertainment. Going back to 2009—during SDK existence—the Nintendo DSi was like today's society in terms of mobility. The Internet Web Browser on the Nintendo DSi system was redundant until users found a home to paint eye-appealing digital art, and took notice of everything the community had to offer.

We're now in the year of 2015 and smartphones are dominating the market—thus, making it challenging for Nintendo to regain their veterinary audience. Without Miiverse's installment onto their mobile system, I'm certain the Nintendo 3DS would be a bit dull, especially since Nintendo disabled Swapnote for particular reasons. On the bright side, it would've draw more people into registering their own accounts—particularly 3DSPaint. But that's just another conspiracy.

Optimistically, there's hope for the community. If there were enough advertisement on various websites, I guarantee Nintendo 3DS owners alike will bound to observe the community. With that said, it just needs more recognition.

I just feel like it's become inactive merely for the fact that it's inactive. For example, some users stopped using this community, and then as a result more and more left until now there's just us. I know I haven't been 'active' for a long time, but I still check the main blogs page week to see if there's any new activity. I'd love to get back into writing blogs, but enough of my rant.
I think that communities like these will cease to exist in the next few years like this one, DSiCade, 3DSHub, and the countless other websites that just didn't get enough attention.
We've all seen this site grow from a mere painting canvas to a booming population of Nintendo console owners. And it had it's Golden Age. I feel that with the release of the Nintendo NX either next year or the following, that it's going to decline even more (if the site isn't out by then). Given that the Nintendo NX is rumored to run Android it's possible that it will have more ways to socialize with one another.
I think there's a possibility for newer places to come out of the NX given someone make an app of some sort for it. Again, only assuming that it's capabilities of Android aren't masked over by Nintendo.
I don't know. I think people just moved on, but nothing's impossible. They could come back.

If they were to come back, it will have to be newer members that hasn't signed up here before. Like I previously interpret about smartphones, we can do so much that this website is now irrelevant—especially since both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS has Miiverse, and the NEW Nintendo 3DS web browser runs HTML 5, which allows a number of users to watch silly videos on your 3DS. Back then, the Web Browser was so redundant that you can't do anything except read texted pages. DSi Paint (deliberately referred to 3DSPaint nowadays) brought purpose to the DSi Browser. Now, there's no purpose. Also keep in mind that back then, people couldn't afford iPhones or anything fancy due to the fact that they were pricy. DSi Paint was such a brilliant site that made the DSi Browser fun and useful. Now that we have great affordable technology, we can now all move on and use Miiverse. It's more convenient than opening the browser and searching for various 3DS sites.

The only way we can bring back the audience is that the website needs to do something so unique that no other mobile site could do. I hope to find a great innovated way to bring 3DS sites back to life, but I still need more studying and research to do before I can experiment.

You're right on, MCRroxas. 3DSPaint hardly has advertisements, which is something that a good-quality website needs. Although I do believe this website is open for all ages other than just kids & teens—even if their lives are busier. It's just that anything can get tiresome after awhile, and I too, left 3DSPaint awhile ago. Now as for changes, the website needs to evolve. Without innovation, it'll just get stale as newer mobile websites continue to develop far from its current state.

Indeed. I agree with what others have said, and I believe that many small communities such as this one will die out completely in the coming years, in favor of larger, more popular networks.

10 years on SDK

I think we should make an android app. And advertise as much as possible.

To be honest, I think it's because the original userbase of the site (the first say three years) made up most of the population. When we all got older, went to school, made friends, etc. we stopped using SDK altogether.

This is the first post I've posted since December of last year, if that tells you anything.

All creation is order which must be scattered to the wind.

I could advertise SDK on my Nintendo reviews site (NONM.co.uk, Wii U and pre-New 3DS accessible version, see ¹).

Also, maybe Hull could use his Nintendo developer license to create a 3DS application with SpotPass notifications? It would make for a sleeker experience, and also draw people in from seeing it on the eShop. If it can be free, so much the better. I'd buy it for £2, however, if it had 3DSPaint included (the painting bit). (I would *estimate* that's US$1.50)

Also, I'm just returning as my internet has been absolutely screwed for the past year and I lost my 2DS while on holiday. Double sadness! (Got a New Nintendo 3DS to replace it so I can't complain too much apart from the £15 of eShop stuff I lost)
