How to Increase Site Traffic

How many new users havebyou seen this week? 50? 40? Less? I have seen 5 this week. And yet the site is growing more rapid than that. Last time I checked it's growing 1000 per week [my equation in my blog concluded this, please correct this if you can] How? Why don't we see so many new users each week, even DAY?

See that email field? IT'S KILLING MEMBERS. Have you ever tried accessing an email inbox on your DSi? No good. The point of the email field is to primarily prevent bots from making accounts and make it harder to create alts. It's just not worth though. I have a better idea.

• IP block proxy sites. Imageboard sites [*chan] regulary block new proxies that are accessed via site everyday, to lower illegal activity. It would be hell, but it must be done to prevent alts. IP proxies are fine, they are automaticallly not allowed by PlanelLab. Also, the current "IP address is in use" thing works fine. New members will then not be discouraged by this email field and give up because their DSi can't load an email inbox.

• Lower the ban time--wait, I covered that in another topic.

Why increase site traffic? Well:

More traffic = more ad money = more features

It's pretty simple. Go 100% on this idea or this site will not garner much new members anytime soon.

The amount of admins are fine. The number of people on crowd control should not exceed the crowd itself. All I'm saying is that if the email field was removed from the registration field more people would be online. The advertising maybe be able to cover more server costs.

Unfortunately, I have realized that PageRank is a big factor in Google ads. Google's PageRank works like this: PageRank is a logarithmic scale from 1 to 10. If a site with a large PageRank has a link to your site, your site's PageRank will go up too. The big deal here is sponsors. If a sponsor sees the incredible amount of users here they will be intrigued to be a sponsor of this site. But users isn't the only thing needed. How will they even realize this site exists? Your answer: advertising.

hey, whatever Hull has to do to bring in more money-hence, add more to the site and make it more fun, i support all the way..but even aol didnt give me too much of a problem..(you have to use the basic version)
