Punishments on a higher level.

Since this series of websites we're using is not necessarily targeted toward younger users but does in any event draw those very audiences, the disciplinary system should be expectedly balanced. By this I mean directed in a reasonably yielding yet firm manner. All the basic principles of moderating website communities fairly and among level-headed individuals ought to apply--with the additional restrictions regarding language, relationships, incendiary content, etc due to our younger assemblage. Our terms are purposefully concise. That allows for flexibility and discretion. To a limit. Users can't be given infinite second chances, and permas can't be handed out if someone spams once or twice.

The more users, the bigger the chance a site will die.

I'd argue that the more users a site has, the more important rules and moderation becomes. There is significantly less margin for error. Doesn't mean the site has to become stricter; means the people who run it should all be on pretty much the same page. Yes, very strict rules can send users away, however, a toxic community often proves to be even more detrimental to a site's reputation and thus its success.

I could sink into my bad habit of going on and on forever about this...I won't. If there was anything I'd emphasize, it would be the following: a fine harmony between leniency and exacting discipline.

Admins sometimes are a little hasty on bans so i wouldnt call it fair.

Actually I would suggest a shorter ban for minor rule breaking. For example Not RPing in RP room, minor spam etc etc. I think 30mins-1hourish for minor bans, because that is the amount of time many people spend on here.

I actually agree.
Not rpiing in the chatrooms is minor. Being banned for 24 hours because of it is unfair in my opinion.
I mean, SkunkBot and HullBot only ban for like 5 hours.

How can you forgive if you can't forget?

Suck it up, its only 24 hours. If I had my way I'd make month-long bans. Not only from the chatrooms and buliten boards, but from the whole site. And if they keep miss behaving I'll perma their ass. 24 hour bans are clearly not working, I've been banned like 50 times lol. We get to many warnings.
