I personally think it should stay the same. Although taking into consideration Divine's thoughts, maybe we could have people banned from viewing the site because many people that get banned may not be constantly in the chatrooms, hence it wouldn't bother them.
And if it doesn't bother a trouble maker, they're actions will not be stopped and they will likely keep it up.
These people should be punished, and maybe an admin would ban someone and if it was bad enough they could mail Hull about so he could ban them from the site.

More to the point and clearer visual points:
1. A user does bad. Spam, inappropriate links, the works.
2. ChatMod bans him.
3. Chatmod then sends a report of his ban to HB because he thinks this act was terrible.
4. Hull reads the report, then proceeds to ban the user from the site for 24 because he also thought this act was horrible.


A report can be a special means of communication with Hull exclusively for Chatmods. (Chatmods only because chatrooms seem to be where the trouble comes from).
That is my opinion.

Hmm, the specialized ban idea again. Unfortunately, complicated to put into form and possibly confusing for admins. Also, in the spirit of the idea, one assumes that if a user breaks a rule in one area, then he does not get punished in another; a problem that might lead to unruly users testing the limits of such a system, and obviously the unfairness and unjustness to benign users who may bear witness to undesirable actions. At present, things do happen as a result of a ban, so a specialized ban system might escalate such tendencies for the reason of mere capability.

daisy, its really hard to ban someone from entering the site, it would have to make it so they can't log on for that period of time. and that wouldn't even happen for someone who spammed

I'd say all overlords can read reports. (Skunkman and SavantInamorata are the other two active overlords)
Letting Terminators site ban as well could be a possibility, though.

Yes, I agree. The banned shouldn't be able to chat, Twiit, Forum post(all in place) or send mail, comment on profiles, or write blogs. Any way they could "chat" should be prohibited.

But if I were hull, I'd leave it at 24 hour bans. Besides, I think it'd be treated quite unfairly. For example, "I don't like this guy so, when he needs to get banned, I'll give him the 48 hours instead!" or "This guy is my friend... And I don't want him to be banned too long even though he probably deserves a 48 hour ban... *24 hour ban*" It's just not fair.

Actually I would suggest a shorter ban for minor rule breaking. For example Not RPing in RP room, minor spam etc etc. I think 30mins-1hourish for minor bans, because that is the amount of time many people spend on here.
