Actually I would suggest a shorter ban for minor rule breaking. For example Not RPing in RP room, minor spam etc etc. I think 30mins-1hourish for minor bans, because that is the amount of time many people spend on here.
Surely if a ban was not negotiable, people would be less likely to 'crime'? If I thought I could wriggle out of a ban I'd be spamming like a madman!! (lol jk but see my point)
Perhaps after the user has been banned they could request a second (admin) opinion. If this admin decides to unban, Great! If not,the ban could be doubled (to stop people doing this all the time)
