@barcass12 A few things: nine consecutive posts is undoubtedly spam. If you want to say something, please do so in a single post. Also, don't insert random urls or advertise yourself (i.e. your blog). The purpose of the bulletin boards is for discussing, asking questions, replying, etc. Please use them properly.
In the meantime, I suggest that you clean up your preceding BB posts. Thanks.
Obviously yes because they are joining our family. This is a community were gamers interact with each other. Making new commers feel welcome is the best thing we can do!
Ok, I think the two main factors of this are:
1. Some older users think they are entitled to special treatment, and that all new users mean nothing. I have even seen this in a few mods. But that behaviour is totally wrong, as all users AND admins are on the same level.
2. I often find it hard to know who is new and who isn't. Of course, I could just look on their profile, but this would hardly be efficient, as I would have to look at every user's profile that I haven't seen before.
So, what I propose is:
1. There is nothing much that can be done for my first point, other than banning users for calling new users 'noobs' in a derogatory sense.
2. A system be created, that when a user registers, it sends a message to all the chatrooms, saying "Soandso has registered! Welcome Soandso!" (or something like that). Kind of like the TWiiter system. That way, people chatting would know who is new, and who to greet. I think this would increase the help given to said user, therefore making their way around SDK easier.
