New users and old users alike should always be welcomed in chatrooms. From then on, it's up to them how they're treated by other chatroom users. If they decide to hold a decent conversation, fine; if they decide to be inappropriate, spam, and/or troll severely, then they don't deserve respect, but instead reprimanding and being ignored. I do feel, however, that new members should get just a little more leeway so that this website doesn't become an immediate turn-off and so that they can learn.
new people should learn the way we all did. no one told us so why should we. they act like noobs when their ignored and start cussiing and telling people their ugly and other names.
Look, Again, all new members these days, are, as Halliane pointed out, annoying pests. Some of them just brats, honestly. A few, I've taken a liking to, but, only because they're polite, and, for some reason, found my Profile.
But, just leave it as it is. New members are new members, and they'll get the Cold Shoulder for a few days. When I joined, I was welcomed semi-warmly. Unfortunately, I was welcomed by 3 different religions, who kept bugging me to convert to their side. Not fun. But I digress...
Anyway, the point is, there's no need to give 'em special treatment. They're annoying 90% of time, anyway.
Whoa bro, better slow down bro, don't wanna be a bro, bro.
I think, the first time a member comes into chat, if they're not a total brat, they should be welcomed, not shunned and ignored simply because they don't yet know everything about the site...
Just my opinion.
I recieved a very warm welcome when I first joined, by then again, that was over avyear ago...
We can't act like they're something special. they need to earn their place here, as many other have done. Sure, I will gladly point a newcomer in the right direction, explaining who Hullbreach is, how to use /me, etc. But I won't treat them like they're already one of my good friend.(Unless, of course, we have a good conversation a number of times.)
Communism: You have more water, everyone has more water!
They could be some type of admin!
Called buddy admin, and they would get warning about new members ect... it would be good!
personally i think it would help alot, and id be more than willing to help a newbie and show them how the site works.
