I believe in Science and Religion put together, to a certain extent. I do believe that there is a God out there, and that the "Theories" used to contradict his existence may actually prove his existence. For example, some people believe that the universe was created by The Big Bang instead of God. I believe God created the universe USING The Big Bang.
Also, from what I know, it's impossible to prove that something does not exist. You can only prove if it does exist.
I believe in God, but I'm not going to object to others not believing in him. Everyone has their own beliefs.

This is why you'll never see reason. You see what any normal person knows is just luck, and you INSIST it must be God. You were brought up to believe in him, and that has totally skewed your ability to think rationally and observe empirically.

It's a shame what horrors being taught religion as fact from an early age can do to the mind.

If you had claimed those things and it fit in with what they already believed? Maybe. The moderate believers and their children wouldn't be fooled, they'd question you. But, if you became the leader of the group, and slowly conditioned them, you could convince a church the end of the world is in May.

Also I love how neither of you pointed out that god neither prevented bad things from happening to the grandfather, nor prevented other christians from being killed. If the grandfather was dead, he couldn't tell stories, so Lil' Believer couldn't use them as ancedotal evidence.

Here, I'll just provide some important concepts.

The first is that improbable things happen. It may be unlikely that life would form, by chance, on a world perfect for life- but we wouldn't notice all the times it didn't happen, because we weren't there at all.

The second concept is that 'evidence of god' or 'miracles' tend to consist of something bad nearly happening, but they get 'saved' by god. Every example of this can be countered by "Why didn't he prevent it entirely". If they respond that it's to reinforce their faith, then you should ask why he doesn't give a daily broadcast to everyone on earth of what he wants out of people.

The third concept is one not yet mentioned here, but another common argument- "You have faith in science!". The response to this is "I trust science." This is seperate from faith, because the scientific method has produced things that work regardless of whether or not you believe in it, has the evidence to back up its claims, and changes based on new information.

However, this doesn't mean belief in a god is evil, obviously. Believing in a god, so long as that belief does not lead you to infringe on the rights of others, or impede scientific progress, is perfectly fine.

Also, don't judge any group of people based on Darmani Link. He's ignorant and just picks his beliefs based on what makes him sound the most dark, edgy, and villainous. He's like a bad political cartoon of an atheist.

The argument here is against monotheistic religion because people of other sorts of belief don't tend to be as zealous.

Also, it's in a way better to be polytheistic or worship an inanimate object. Polytheism, with many gods that are not omnipotent, and have varying personalities, solves the problem of evil, the problem of death, explains why miracles happen instead of the problem being prevented all together- "my god only has the power of slowing chainsaws and elevators" -I think it's more reasonable.

Worshipping an object isn't stupid because the object can be seen, held, and felt, and it also actually provides a benefit to you. Worship won't affect it, but at least it somewhat deserves the praise.

A physical object is pretty easy to believe in, and theism just means belief in gods.

Having faith in multiple gods is easier than having faith in one. I already explained why.
