The New Deal is what led the US down this path of overspending. Social Security is nothing but a ponzi scheme, and the entitlement programs, constant world policing, and wasteful spending, are further leading the nation to financial ruin. I'm seeing the same things happening in the US now that happened in Weimar Germany before World War II. Our currency is collapsing; underemployment is around 18%; 16% of families are on food stamps. One major event could spark a fire of war that is already prepared - be it racial tensions, oil control, megalomaniacal dictators with nukes, or an assassination of a world leader.

Well it's all a cycle, if you look at it. In the early 2000's and 90's (not that I was around long enough for it anyway) we had a pretty decent economy, and the Great Depression was in the....'40's? Hopefully in the next 10-20 years the stock market will be back on balance.
