About the Username Changes

Username changes are pointless. Sorry but if you did not want your username, you should have not named yourself that in the first place.

If you are complaining you "Need a fresh start" maybe you should not have done what you did to make you want that "Fresh start"

On who in power ought to be able to change usernames: Should stay the way it is. Reasoning being that it's not even a duty for the Overlords; it's webmaster pay-grade, and only one guy has that privilege. Our appointed helpers and overseers have no part in that and never will.

On the legitimacy of it: There's a whole stack of arguments against name changes. But ignore those for a moment, and realise that out of the 85k+ accounts registered to the site, surely no more than 10 have received name changes. Of the percentage of those accounts which are alts, a decent chunk were created solely because people didn't like their name anymore. And of the four accounts (off the top of my head) which I know for sure got their makeovers, one was legit, one was borderline, and the other two were cosmetic.

Telling about how things work. Now can you imagine that on a larger scale boasting a raw factor of at minimum five? Undeniably pure chaos.

I think HullBreach doesn't allow username changes because you choose one username that YOU LIKE. So if you're smart you would choose a good username that you like. Also, if 'MysticalZoey' for instance changed her name to 'Zoey1357' you wouldn't know that 'Zoey1357' is 'MysticalZoey' so I don't really think this is a good idea but hey it could work if the admins agree and Hull agrees.

Name changes are not a good idea. If someone gets banned on a daily bases their punshment will get worse each time. But with a name change an admin might not know the person has been banned 20 times in a month, and give the person a warning instead of say, a perma.

If I'm correct, since the IP block has been enabled again, one can't delete an account and make another.

If name changes were allowed, everyone would ask for one which is too much effort. It takes up a chunk of the server if people constantly change their names as everything associated with that account has to be changed.

Hmm i think this ideas is bad because as LinkZelda stated if name changing was allowed users will spam it.

Plus it will take up lot of server spaces & slow the server speed down.

Name changes sound fun, but the mass confusion and abuse could destroy the society as we know it. Impersonations and the like ouble be all too common.

However, should name changes be enabled, perhaps a "memory name" be added. Like Runescape, you could change your name, but for a month your previous name would be displayed too.

Again, the name change strengthens account security too. You would still have to log-in with your original.

Yes, I like Runescape. I`ve logged 200 days of playing time over 6 years. :/

Thanks for the good lol, but I'm Australian, and I first joined this site on my old account on March 13th 2010, plus, I've talked to him before in the chatrooms, so last time I checked, we're different people.
